Mark started the race from second and held P2 in the early stages of the race before he was passed by his former F1 colleague Kamui Kobayashi.
The number 1 Porsche is then locked in a thrilling battle for victory with the number 8 Audi and the number 6 Toyota for almost the entire race, even with five stops for refuelling and driver and tyre changes.
During Brendon’s final stint, he challenges Kobayashi for P2 which sees the two of them swap positions several times. Mark gets in for the final stint and drives the number 1 919 Hybrid home to third place and a fourth consecutive podium for himself and his team.
