Car 1 SEBASTIAN VETTEL, Finish Position: WINNER, Start Position: 2nd

“A very rewarding win today; it’s a great feeling. I love this track and it’s just fantastic to win here. It was a horrible start to be honest; we found ourselves sitting in third place and then tried to go longer in the first stint. I had great traction after I got past Romain and after that the only threat was Mark who got stuck behind Romain. We could then manage the gap until the end of the race. The Championship is the big target of course, but the season is very long still and the best way to wrap it up is not to think about it. I’m happy to go home for a bit now and to relax before we go out to India. That’s an impressive country and I’m looking forward to racing there in a couple of weeks.”

Car 2 MARK WEBBER, Finish Position: 2nd, Start Position: 1st

“We were on the back foot a bit after Romain’s great start. I wanted to put pressure on him for the win. Sebastian was on a different strategy to me and in the end it worked out pretty similar. It’s hard to know which was right (a two or three stop strategy), as we were trying to cover off Romain. I did my best and in the end it was a good result.”

CHRISTIAN HORNER, Team Principal: “A massive result for the team to achieve a one two in Japan. It was an exciting race that was dictated by the tyre strategy. We split the strategies between a three-stop for Mark and a two-stop for Seb, based on the expected tyre lives on the two cars. Both drivers managed to make it work to navigate their way past Romain Grosjean, in particularly brave moves down into Turn one. A great result for the Team and both Championships and congratulations to Renault for another one-two-three finish on the podium.”

THIERRY SALVI, Renault: “A perfect result for Renault today, and great to see us up there represented on the podium. We split strategies today for Mark and Seb and got a 1-2, which is of course good news for the Championship. However there are still four races to go so we’ll remain focused on the job in hand.”

    Hey,Mark
    Second place is not bad.
    U had a poor start.
But the worst thing is that when you need the team on the track, they are never there for u,never.
However,we, all your fans’ve always got your back.
    Proud of u.
    Enjoy the coming races(^_^)

Just curious here but…… What happened when the hat was thrown? Lol =)
*** SITE MANAGER *** We wondered the same so we asked Mark! Apparently after he threw his Pirelli cap into the crowd, he needed a RBR cap for the rest of the podium ceremony so he went off to find one. He then returned wearing one on the other side of the podium!

Mark mate, I am really pleased for you getting second place, congratulations mate.

You deserved to win that race, you had the jump on finger boy and Grosjean was never going to win it, it was yours for the taking.

This is beyond ridiculous, you have your Team principal openly lying after the race on BBC TV that your strategy was dictated by the first tire stop. The hypocrisy was dripping off of him, even the BBC reporter stared at him sceptically as he was answering her rightfully posed question!!! You have since stated that this wasn’t the case and that you were good to go on 2 stops as per your pre race plans. WTH? The team changed the strategy on you purely to engineer a win for FB. There really are no limits to RB making sure you don’t win a race this year!!!

Why on earth did you not stay out? Finger boy was only catching you by 0,6 of a second a lap, you had a 14 + second lead. Even if you lost a second a lap you would have been in front at the end of the race. Bloody hell mate, my blood would boil if I were you.

I am proud of your achievement all the same, but I really wanted to hear our Aussie anthem being played today, and it should have been your race!!! You were robbed plain and simple.

    Mark

Yet again your team principle showed his form. Its a shame DR is going to a team that so obviously chooses who’s going to win. Horners a hun luver………….

impossible to win races with your team working against you mate… horner, your a disgrace, you can’t even let mark get one win with all the rubbish you put him through…. listening to sebs radio comments, and the way horner handles things, the way marko favours one driver…. you can all go to hell… pathetic racing team with no virtue

Once again you worked your backside off for Horner and those RB little shits. Well done to you Mark all credit mate for a great drive and the dignity you always show in your post race interviews – you’ve got the patience of a Saint Mark. Next time go with your gut feeling when your given radio instructions, you’ve got nothing to lose Mark, neither have RB unfortunately. Chin up Mark the support you get from your fans is phenomenal – we are the best at supporting on man. Hope you read all this Mark. Good luck champ.

    RBR has shafted MW again.
With such a lead, why not stay out and use up some of the lead, stop a sec time for tyres and then get home in p1 seeing as you were quickest???
    Horner is a disgrace!

Great poise in the way you never say what I think alot people wish you would!

That was your race, 14 second lead with 10 to go. Could have back off a second a lap to save tires. you deserved to that victory!

Was hoping vettle would give you back the win he stole after ignoring team orders to turn down engine maps. Ya I know wishful thinking.

Great drive you deserved that one!

Mark, whatever the reasons are now that you don’t speak your mind about how you are consistently knobbed by RBR. I do truly hope that once this season is over you will put all the sh** you had to put up with into context and expose RBR for the biased, manipulative and unsporting team it is.

There are so many people around the world that look up to you as a true sportsman and it is no coincidence that so many of them including well respected F1 broadcasters and commentators are poking holes in everything that comes out of CH’s mouth, such audacious lies WILL bite him in the arse one day, big time I hope.

Now CH says publicly that he hopes you win a race before the season ends, what utter in genuine hypocritical bullsh**.

Whenever CH’s feet are to the coals, he never answers a question directly, he is always deflecting and never gives you more than a passing thought and jumps straight into how good FB is. I can’t think of a time he has answered a question about you without mentioning FB in the answer or coming to FB’s defence!!

I am quite fed up with this whole season, as I am sure many are, people should be made accountable and they aren’t, it is the injustices that have made me fed up with F1 this year.

When was the last time a wheel fell off a Marussia twice in a season? Anybody?

great post mate and your viewpoints are an accurate reflection of the conduct of redbull(at least to the spectators eye). You have voiced the opions of many of mark’s fans and I appreciate you illustating the fact that, as a diligent servant of f1, webber definately deserves better in his final season
