An emotional final race weekend in Formula One ended with Mark taking the 42nd podium of his career.

After 12 years and a total of 215 races, Mark embarks on his final race as a Formula One driver this weekend.

“I closed the gap to Romain, but he drove very well, without any mistakes. It’s very difficult to pass here – even with two DRS zones – and I tried various tactics, but couldn’t find a way through. Still, I’m happy to finish on the podium in front of the American fans for the last time – in Formula One anyway.”

“I want to end my F1 career on a high, which means getting podiums,” said Mark. “I feel like I’m driving well at the moment, so let’s see what Sunday brings.”

After equalling Sir Jack Brabham’s 13 pole positions on Saturday, Mark suffered a slow getaway and had to fight his way back to second place – the 40th podium finish of his career and the 100th podium in the history of Red Bull Racing.

Mark takes pole for tomorrow’s Abu Dhabi Grand Prix!

After the disappointment of last weekend’s Indian Grand Prix, Mark heads to the Yas Marina circuit in Abu Dhabi in search of his sixth podium finish of the season.

“It would have been nice to win the constructors’ title with both of us on the podium,” says Mark. “The team has done a phenomenal job this year, proving once again that it is the benchmark in F1.”

“The car is very consistent, but we need to work on the tyres and make sure we get the most out of them,” says Mark after an encouraging first day of the Indian Grand Prix.
