Timo started the race in P3 and took the lead by lap 29. A slow puncture on lap 53 meant an early pit stop for Brendon who then handed over to Mark. On lap 141, Mark allowed the number 2 through but regained the lead when the sister car received a drive-through penalty for a collision with a GT car. Mark pulled out a lead on the two Audis and handed over to Timo on lap 165 for the final stint. Timo brought the car home to take the first victory of the year for the number 1 crew and their second consecutive win at the Nürburgring.
